Kellie m. Delaney
Of Counsel

With a business background and technology savvy, Kellie emphasizes communication and project management within her law practice. As a result, she can listen, act, and develop solutions for her clients that are based on their unique needs, balancing business objectives with legal risks. With a broad base of experience, she keeps the big picture in her sights.
Kellie has experience with general business matters, including formation of nonprofit entities, corporate governance, investor due diligence, securities filings, intellectual property issues, and secured bridge financing transactions. She has worked on litigation matters in state and Federal court, and the FINRA arbitration forum. Her legal work has also included probate conservatorships and general estate planning.
Recipient of Problem-Solving and Dean's Merit scholarships, she graduated with honors from California Western School of Law. While studying at Cal Western, Kellie had the privilege to serve as judicial intern for Hon. Michael B. Orfield (Ret.) at San Diego Superior Court. This experience has proved invaluable in her litigation work.
Prior to her legal career, Kellie worked for over a decade in the software industry designing solutions for technical publications, software products, and regulatory specifications, starting at Platinum Software (now Epicor). She later worked as Program Manager for International Language Engineering, and created information architectures for many clients, including State of the Art Software (now Sage), Informatica, QLogic, Broadcom, PatientSafe, and Canon Information Systems. She has used her software background, writing expertise, and legal insight to help further the product design and company vision of VeriComply, Inc. In addition to her J.D., she holds an M.A. and B.A., cum laude, in Comparative Literature from UC Irvine. She has taught undergraduate writing courses at UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara.
As someone who believes there are many ways to serve our larger communities, Kellie has been a pro bono attorney for the ABA Immigration Justice Project. She also volunteers on projects of the Children at Risk Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association and serves as Director and Officer of SYV Fruit & Vegetable Rescue, a nonprofit that gleans and redirects the "last harvests" from farms and farmer's markets to charitable organizations in Santa Barbara County, helping to improve nutrition for people rebuilding their lives (www.syvfvr.org).
Born in Los Angeles, Kellie grew up in Newport Beach and has been a resident of North San Diego County since 1999, where she resides in a now-empty nest with her husband and dogs. Outside work, she spends time pursuing other passions: hiking, skiing, music, cooking, theater, first novels, and old houses.
